Why Fresh Free-Range Eggs Are a Nutritional Powerhouse

There’s nothing quite like cracking open a fresh egg from a free-range chicken. The golden yolk, firm white, and rich flavor tell you right away—this is no ordinary egg. But beyond taste, fresh free-range eggs offer real nutritional benefits.

Compared to conventional eggs, free-range eggs

often contain:

-More omega-3 fatty acids – great for heart and brain health

-Higher levels of vitamins A, D, and E

-More beta-carotene – that’s what gives the yolks their deep orange color

-Less cholesterol and saturated fat
Order ahead when you book your visit, and we’ll have your farm-fresh favorites ready to take home.

Can I pick up food without booking a tour?

Yes! Just check the inventory available, and complete the order form online and be sure to arrive at the farm on your designed pickup date.

Is the milk pasteurized?

No, our milk is raw and unpasteurized, straight from grass-fed cows. It’s handled with care and chilled immediately after milking. Many of our customers seek raw milk for its taste and natural enzymes.

What kind of butter and cheese is available?

We offer fresh-churned butter made from raw cream and a rotating selection of handcrafted cheeses—availability changes weekly.

Is your beef grass-fed?

Our beef is pasture-raised and spend their days grazing on grass as they roam. At certain times of year, their food is supplemented with hay and/or grain. They are not treated with hormones or antibiotics.

What do your chickens eat?

Our chickens are free-range and organically fed. They roam during the day and return to the coop at night. Their varied diet leads to rich, flavorful eggs.

When will I get my food order?

Your order will be ready for you at the end of your farm visit. We’ll keep it chilled until then, so you can enjoy the tour without worry.

Where does the food come from?

All food is locally sourced from Lancaster area farms. While most of our sourcing farms are Amish family farms, all the farms we work with share our values of quality and sustainability.

Since our food is seasonal and produced in small batches, inventory can change quickly. We’ll let you know if substitutions are needed or offer you a refund.

How should I store raw milk or butter after pickup?

We recommend bringing a cooler with ice packs, especially during warm months. Raw milk and butter should be refrigerated as soon as possible.
